Newborn Session Details

Newborn sessions take place in my private Murray, Kentucky studio and are typically scheduled within the first 14 days after baby arrives. Because newborn photography requires specialized posing and safety techniques, I recommend reserving your session while you are still pregnant.
As a photographer certified in newborn safety, your baby’s comfort and well-being are always my top priorities.
What to Expect
- Sessions begin around 9:30–10:00 a.m.
- Most newborn sessions last 2–3 hours.
- All wraps, bonnets, sleepy hats, tiebacks, props, and accessories are provided.
- Simple and timeless styling designed to keep the focus on your baby.
- Parent and sibling portraits are available depending on your selected package.
A detailed prep guide will be sent before your appointment.
Please bring:
Plenty of milk or bottles
A pacifier (even if baby doesn’t normally use one)
My goal is to create a calm and enjoyable experience so you can simply relax while I take care of the rest.
Cake Smash Session Details

Cake smash sessions are the perfect way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday! Sessions last up to one hour and take place in my Murray, Kentucky studio, with outdoor options available weather permitting.
Simple, timeless props are provided, and you’re welcome to discuss incorporating special items from home. A cake stand is included, but cakes are not provided by SaraB Photography. I highly recommend Cakes by Misty for beautifully designed cakes that photograph well.
For even more fun, add a bubble bath session to clean up and capture extra smiles—babies absolutely love them!
Contact SaraB Photography to book your first birthday session or for information about ordering a cake.
Client Closet Details

I offer access to a small but growing client closet featuring beautiful maternity gowns in a variety of sizes. When you book in advance, we’ll work together to choose an outfit that fits your style and vision for your session.
Whether you’re celebrating a new baby or an important milestone, SaraB Photography is here to help you preserve these memories for years to come.
Contract Information
At SaraB Photography in Murray, Kentucky, I strive to make your photography experience smooth and stress-free. To officially secure your session, a signed contract and retainer ($150) are required. Your session is not fully booked until both are received.
When booking a newborn session, I also provide a detailed prep guide a few days before your session. This guide is essential to ensuring a successful and enjoyable session. It’s important to read it thoroughly, sign it, and follow the instructions outlined to help your session go as smoothly as possible. The prep guide includes tips and steps to prepare both you and your baby for the session, helping me capture those precious moments perfectly.
The contract, combined with the prep guide and retainer, ensures a seamless experience from start to finish.
Retainer Details
To ensure every family receives the best possible experience, I accept a limited number of newborn sessions each month.
A non-refundable $150 retainer is required to reserve your session. Unlike a deposit, which may imply a refundable payment, a retainer secures your spot on my calendar and compensates for holding that date exclusively for your family. Once reserved, that session time is no longer available to other clients.
Your retainer is applied toward your remaining session balance.
Payment Methods
At SaraB Photography, I strive to make the payment process simple and secure. My preferred payment method is Wave, which allows clients to conveniently pay online through a secure invoice.
A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session and is applied toward your remaining balance. The final balance is due on the day of your session. Proofing galleries and final images will not be delivered until payment has been received in full.
Additional payment methods accepted include Venmo and cash. Please refer to your signed contract for complete payment terms.
Rescheduling, Late Arrivals, No Shows, and Cancellations
At SaraB Photography, I understand that life can be unpredictable, but it’s important to note the following policies regarding rescheduling, late arrivals, no shows, and cancellations:
- Canceling the Day Of / No Shows/ Same-Day Rescheduling: I understand that unexpected situations happen. Because I reserve specific dates and times for each client, the following policies are in place to ensure fairness to all families. All retainers and payments made are non-refundable.
- Same-day cancellations, no shows, and same-day rescheduling requests will result in the forfeiture of all amounts paid.
- Late Arrivals: Please arrive on time for your session. Late arrivals will reduce the amount of shooting time available, as sessions must remain on schedule for all clients.
These policies are in place to ensure fairness and the best experience for all clients. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Studio Expectations:
My goal is to provide a calm, comfortable experience for both parents and babies.
For newborn sessions, I recommend limiting the number of people in the studio while baby is being posed. Newborns are often most relaxed with their primary caregiver nearby, and a quieter environment helps create a smooth and successful session.
Partners and family members are welcome to participate in portraits and join once baby is settled.
Outside food and drinks are welcome, especially during longer newborn sessions. I want you to feel comfortable and at home while we create beautiful memories together.
If you have any questions before your session, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
