Newborn Session Details
At SaraB Photography, I specialize in capturing the precious moments of your little one’s journey, from maternity to milestones. As your trusted Murray, Kentucky Newborn Photographer, I strive to provide a seamless, stress-free experience for every family.
My newborn sessions are designed to document the beauty and innocence of your baby in their earliest days. To ensure availability, it’s best to book your session while you’re still pregnant. I schedule newborn sessions based on your baby’s due date, and once your little one arrives, you’ll need to notify me within 24 hours so we can finalize your session date and time.
Here are the details:
- Newborn sessions are held in my cozy Murray, Kentucky studio, starting at 9:30 a.m.
- Sessions are scheduled within the first 14 days of your baby’s life.
- If your baby is older than 14 days, please contact me to confirm. Please note that after the 14-day window, newborns are more challenging to get the sleepy, curly poses. Variations on poses may be limited after the 14-day old window.
- Sessions typically last 2–3 hours and are baby-focused, with all props and outfits provided.
To save on your investment, consider booking both a maternity and newborn session together! This ensures I’ll capture every magical moment, from the anticipation of your baby bump to the joy of welcoming your newborn.
Cake Smash Session Details
Cake smash sessions are a perfect way to celebrate your baby’s first big milestone! These sessions typically last up to 1 hour and are held in my cozy studio, though outdoor sessions can be accommodated if the weather allows. I provide simple and elegant props to create a timeless look. While I’m happy to discuss incorporating props from home, please note that some items may not photograph well and may not be used.
A cake stand is included in your session, and I highly recommend ordering a custom cake from Cakes by Misty, a talented local baker. Her cakes are the perfect size for little ones and beautifully crafted. For the best results, opt for simple designs and avoid bright colors or sprinkles, as they can be distracting in photos.
Don’t forget to add on the bubble bath! After the messy fun of the cake smash, a bubble bath is the perfect way to clean up and capture even more smiles. Babies absolutely love them, and they’re a wonderful way to wrap up the session with joyful memories.

Contract Information
At SaraB Photography in Murray, Kentucky, I strive to make your photography experience smooth and stress-free. To officially secure your session, a signed contract and retainer ($150) are required. Your session is not fully booked until both are received.
When booking a newborn session, I also provide a detailed prep guide a few days before your session. This guide is essential to ensuring a successful and enjoyable session. It’s important to read it thoroughly, sign it, and follow the instructions outlined to help your session go as smoothly as possible. The prep guide includes tips and steps to prepare both you and your baby for the session, helping me capture those precious moments perfectly.
The contract, combined with the prep guide and retainer, ensures a seamless experience from start to finish.
Retainer Details
Please note that I only book a limited number of newborn sessions each month to provide every client with the best possible experience.
It is important to note the non-refundable retainer ($150) is not a deposit; it secures your session date and time on my calendar. The retainer goes towards your remaining balance.
Payment Methods
At SaraB Photography, I aim to make the payment process as simple and secure as possible. The preferred method of payment is through Wave, which allows you to pay securely online via a digital invoice.
Your non-refundable retainer is applied toward the remaining balance of your session, which is due on the day of your session. Please note that the proofing gallery will not be sent until full payment has been received.
In addition to Wave, I also accept payments via Venmo or cash. To ensure a smooth experience, please follow the payment terms outlined in your contract.

Rescheduling, Late Arrivals, No Shows, and Cancellations
At SaraB Photography, I understand that life can be unpredictable, but it’s important to note the following policies regarding rescheduling, late arrivals, no shows, and cancellations:
- Canceling the Day Of / No Shows/ Same-Day Rescheduling: If you need to cancel or reschedule your session on the day of, please note that the retainer and any payments made are non-refundable. I reserve specific dates and times for your session, so these fees help protect that availability. If you do not show up for your session, all amounts paid, including the non-refundable retainer, are non-refundable.
- Late Arrivals: If you arrive late for your session, the amount of time you are late will be deducted from the total time allotted for your session. Arriving on time is important to ensure we capture all the special moments without rushing.
These policies are in place to ensure fairness and the best experience for all clients. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Studio Expectations:
At SaraB Photography, I want to create a calm and focused environment during your session to ensure the best results, especially for newborn sessions. For newborn sessions, it is recommended that only the mother be present in the studio while working with the baby. This helps to keep the baby calm and comfortable, as newborns are often most at ease with their primary caregiver nearby.
Having fewer people in the studio during these sessions helps create a peaceful atmosphere, allowing me to focus entirely on capturing those precious moments. Of course, partners and family members are welcome to join for the latter part of the session once the newborn is settled and posed.
I understand that sessions can be long, so outside food and drink are allowed in the studio. Feel free to bring snacks or drinks to make your time more comfortable, especially if you’re staying for a longer session.
